Great times in Whistler at the WSSF 2015 State of the Art opening night on Friday. A quick vid of the install - a number of very talented artists showing their work, grateful to be apart of it.
Just finishing up a few resin pours and transfers on images that are going into the State of the Art show in Whistler tonight for the #WSSF. Stoked.
We have been working on a number of fine art projects while back in Vancouver. One of the pieces I am really excited about is "mighty quinn", shot in the Brooklyn shipyards, the oldest dry dock in N America, the image is strong and calm. We finished it with a hand ground floating frame and a sheet of custom perforated aluminum. Dig the aesthetic and how it ties the freight project together. Take a look at the freight gallery for a few more images we are working on.........
Seaspan is gearing up for its contract to build new government vessels and they need to attract the industries best talent. We shot a campaign to help them market to, and attract, new recruits. A few of the images are posted, looking forward to the rest of the campaign.
A great shoot with the lululemon Wellington crew. There are no shortage of beautiful backdrops and cool locations. Stop in and check out the images at the Wellington store.
Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf is a bit of paradise. A great way to start the year off with friends, family, wine and beaches. An idyllic setting for a few fine art images for an ongoing project. Look forward to more images in the series in 2015.
Merry Christmas from the South Pacific. This year has been an amazing experience - looking forward to 2015. Wishing love and happiness to friends, family and colleagues.
An enlightened evening in Auckland with lululemon as we slowed the pace during the holiday to reflect on presence over presents. #givepresence #lululemon
We spent a few days floating around the Great Barrier reef in N Australia this week. A spectacular natural experience - hard to believe there is talk about shipping and oil drilling in the area, would be a shame to endanger this area.
Bula from the land of kava and waves.
Auckland's Artweek is getting underway and we are excited to be a part of it. The "freight" series is on display at an outdoor venue in Queens Wharf on the Auckland waterfront. Check it out at Shed 10. The exhibition goes from Oct 10-24 2014. Head down and take a look and make sure to take in all of the amazing artwork presented during #Artweek. Big thanks to Artweek and Phantom for helping put the exhibition together.
We have been working on a few resin test in Auckland for a collaboration with the gallery Two Rooms. The series uses prints, mixed media and a resin finish to capture a "dreamscape" aesthetic. The goal is to utilize the process for a series that takes a look back into the recesses of memory and how idyllic those moment frozen in time truly are.
A recent trip to Tonga to swim with and photograph humpback whales proved to offer much more than anticipated - beautiful place, great experience.
A great yoga shoot in Kelowna this week, great wine was a bonus.
